Borat

Review by The Ninja Master

Talk about a funny movie. This movie cracked up most of the world, myself included. A lot of the humor is very crude, so if that's not your thing, you should seriously look elsewhere for a comedy.

THINGS THIS MOVIE CONTAINED: Pamela Anderson, a disgusting fight between a naked hairy man and a fat naked hairy man, men throwing money at cockroaches.

THINGS THIS MOVIE DID NOT CONTAIN: Kangaroo Jack, the Death Star, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Untrue Fact: The actor who portrays Borat was actually eaten by cannibals before filming began. Nobody knows how this is possible.

The Review: This movie is ridiculous. The humor can be dirty and is extremely offensive, to everyone, so if you get offended easily don't watch it. Races, cultures, religions, and whole countries are made fun of in this film. Borat is from Kazakhstan and has come to America to make a video for "cultural learnings of America for make benefit glorious nation of kazakhstan." Almost all of this movie was shot without actors, only Borat and his companion are actually in on the script. Everyone else they encouter has been told that Borat (actually a British comedian, star of Da Ali G show) is really from Kazakhstan, and they think they are being filmed as part of a documentary. Of course, Borat makes fun of them all, and they say the kind of things they'd never want the American public to hear.

I said above that this movie is offensive, and it is. That's what makes it so damn funny. But there is a method to the madness, and it isn't just offensive for the sake of being offensive. Borat acts like an idiot while pointing out problems with society, and we laugh because we know he's right. When people say stupid things in this movie, those are real people saying what they really think. As I said, there isn't really a script, and nobody is aware that they are part of an elaborate joke until the movie is actually released.

Unfortunately for Borat, lots of people got pissed off and decided to sue. On one hand, you might feel bad for them, being taken advantage of and not realizing what they were playing into. On the other, they DID really say these things, and they DID know a camera was on them, so it was kinda their own fault for being so stupid. I say see this movie, laugh it up, and enjoy something that's as far from politically correct as humanly possible.

Complaints:  They didn't interview any monsters or aliens, which would have added an outsiders view of human life. Of course, either of these would have eaten the production team, so they are forgiven. Also, the scene where Borat and his friend fight naked was horrifying.

On a side note: The Ninja Master made a documentary about himself once, but everything was so top secret that he had to eat it to destroy the evidence. Not a waste of time though, it turned out to be quite tasty.
