Pixar does it again, bringing high-quality animation with a lovable story to match in this tale of the littlest chef there ever was. THINGS THIS MOVIE CONTAINED: Rats (lots of ‘em), Cooking (lots of it), The city of Paris, great voice-over work. THINGS THIS MOVIE DID NOT CONTAIN: Hand-to-hand combat with disgruntled pandas, Neil Sedaka songs, wonton soup. The Review: This unexpectedly touching tale is centered on an adorable rat named Remy, whose greatest desire is to cook food. His inspiration comes from a famed Parisian chef named Gusteau, whose motto is “Anyone can cook”. After being separated from his colony Remy finds himself in Paris, at Gusteau’s restaurant. He forms an unlikely partnership with Linguini, the bumbling garbage boy who is desperate to keep his new job at Gusteau’s. Together they become the newest cooking talent in Paris. Complaints: Watching this movie made me extremely hungry. Also, all those rats in one or two scenes were slightly gross to watch, if you think about it realistically. Luckily Remy was so adorable, it could be overlooked. On a side note: Don’t make the same mistake I did by trying to transform a chef into a rat and forcing him to be your personal chef. Especially if you’ve got a pet snake.
